Searching & Researching
Our main priority is to get you some great looking glasses that give you the very best vision possible. To succeed in this, we need an up to date glasses prescription from you. This allows us to tailor your glasses or sunglasses specifically to you and your needs.
On completion of a sight test by your local optician, you should be given a copy of your prescription. Asking for your “pupillary distance” at this time would be helpful. If your last sight test is still in date, within the last 2 yrs ( 1yr if over 70 yrs old), then you can request a copy from them.
There is no obligation to buy your glasses from the same place you have your sight test. You can use it as an opportunity to browse frames, get an idea of what style suits you. Try to make a note of the size frames that feel comfortable, you should find the sizes stamped on the inside of the arms ( we prefer to call them sides) of the frame.
We legally have to use a prescription that is in date to provide your new glasses. Sight Tests are an important health check and the Association of Optometrists recommend they should be carried out at regular intervals even if feel your vision remains stable.
If you have any problems or concerns when entering your prescription into our order form, then have a read of our glasses prescription guide. Scanned copies of your prescription can be added to your order so we can check everything is in order. Alternatively we can be contacted by email or phone to run through things with you, giving you peace of mind that you will receive exactly what you wanted.
